One of my first pit stops was Cape Foulweather. I just happened to see a sign for it and thought, "might as well stop." That's what I love about road trips. You can just do that. Stop. For any reason at any time. Because you want to or feel the desire or need to.
While it happened to be sunny out with some brooding darker clouds in the distance, this cliff still felt ominous. Cape foul.weather. Many a ship have crashed out in these waters. It's menacing and rocky.
The only thing I can really say is I felt like I was Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights. Dark and menacing walking the cliffs. The wind blowing and beckoning me to the dangerous edge. I kind of wish I had on longer cloak-like coat it would have completed the image. A brooding panther stalking the cliffs. (instead of the moors of England)
I thought the brooding image should be in black and white. It makes it more menacing.
I took a pic of the sign so I could remember a little of the history.
I bet that rock out in the ocean has claimed a couple lives.
This was carved into a log bench. It seems so whimsical and fitting.
