I was a little bit nervous about this trip. It was my maiden voyage. I've never ridden on one as a passenger or driven a car on one and crossed any body of water, BUT I was nervous for no reason at all. It was easy peasy. Drive on, park, get out and look around, get back in car and drive off. No problem-o.
Looking down from the dock at the cars waiting to board. I'm way in the back 40 of the first lane. I got there way ahead of time because I read online on the Ferry site that after Noon it gets the busiest. That just gave me some time to burn. Got myself a sandwich at Subway, took some pics and talked to Dad. Oh, did you know that they have a cop with a dog who walks up and down the lanes looking for contraband.
The roadway to drive onto the ferry once it pulls up and attaches.
The Puget Sound.
It was partially a bright and sunny day. Blue clear skies.
A view from my car looking out after I parked on-board. I ended up on the far left-hand side row behind a motorcycle. Super cool as I could watch as we moved along. I sat and ate my sandwich but not before getting out to look around.
View from the ferry as we are leaving the dock.
View from inside the ferry itself. They have a lot of seating and even food if you want it.
Looking down on my car from the sky deck. Behind the motorcycle.
One of the other boats going back to the dock.
From the very front of the boat. I peeked over and checked out the wave activity in front. I kind of wanted to do a little nod to the Titanic but it doesn't jut out quite that much and you aren't very far off the water so I passed.
Downtown Seattle in the background. You can see the Space Needle on the left.
My ferry was named the Wenatchee. There are two decks you can view from. One up underneath the sign and one below where I was standing. Lots of windows so if you don't want to be outside you can watch from inside on a padded bench.
This guy kept flying around me and these two ladies (who also happened to be the picture takers for me). I kept thinking is he just doing a drive-by to find a good spot to poop on my head or what? Cuz obviously I have no food. LOL
Time to unload. Destination: Bainbridge Island. The trip took less than a half an hour and unboarding didn't take very long either.
Overall I'd definitely do this again. Totally. It was fun and easy and not really that expensive. $13 doesn't seem too bad if you ask me. Although I was on vacation so if I had to pay this frequently it would be a different story.
Thanks for reading this. If you have any comments or questions let me know.
Have a great day!
