Ah...."Tator Tot Hotdish".
If you live in Minnesota and you have either never heard of this dish or tasted it then all I have to say is, that's sad. Your parents should have learned the art of making this dish from their stalwart grandparents and passed it on to you as mine did. Doesn't it look scrumptous? Don't let this be confused with a casserole, it's a hotdish. Say it with me, "hot dish." :)

OH Jen, you would be so disappointed. Seeing that I am a true Wisconsinite, I got this recipe from you. And I am sorry to say buy my hubby and son wouldn't even eat it, proably only because it was something different. And of course he kept calling it a casserole, it is funny you mentioned that because I kept correcting him.

Reminds me of shepherd's pie, but with tater tots. Maybe I should try shepherd's pie with tater tots on top instead of mashed potatoes. I bet that would be delicious!
