Amanda and Myas's Wedding 9/17

Here are a couple of pictures I took for Amanda and Myas's Wedding. I helped out Jimmy with setting up the shots and giving suggestions for different poses and angles. These pictures are what I took with my own camera not Jimmy's professional behemoth. :)

The Moment

The exact moment Jayde asked me to marry him.

We went out to eat for my birthday at the Boathouse in Waseca. The restaurant sits right on the lake so boats can come up and dock and eat lunch or dinner.

We sat on the deck and ate our dinner then Jayde said we should get the camera and take some sunset pictures but it wasn't quite time yet so I said, "Hey, let's go over to the Park over there. We'll get some good shots from there too."

So we went over to the park and I saw this park bench in between two big trees and said, "That's perfect. I'll get my tripod and set it up to take our picture." I thought I'd get some nice dark silhouettes and the colorful background.

I set up my pod, told Jayde to sit on the bench and then pushed the button and ran over and sat next to Jayde. I was huffing and puffing and barely made it. So I said, "Jayde, you do it this time, you run faster than I do."

So I showed him how to push the button and then went and sat down and waited. I sat there and was like, "What the heck is taking so long." So I said, "What are you doing? Hurry up Jayde." LOL

So I hear him come a runnin' and he sits down and I look over at him and he pulls the ring out and says, "Will you marry me?" and the the shutter clicked. (I'm so not making this up either.) This picture shows the very exact moment he asked me. Priceless.

I was in total shock. I said, "um...are you fucking with me because that wouldn't be funny." and He just grinned at me and said, "No."

It was classic. You know the rest.

Amber Zak's Wedding

A couple pictures from Amber and Aaron's wedding last Saturday. Just the service though I didn't drag my camera with to the reception and dance. I'm a big enough nerd as it is plus I was in high heels and a skimpy dress I didn't want to lug around my piece of a camera all night. :)

Here are some pictures from Mom's camera.

This is one of my favorites. I told the guys, "You boys get down on one knee and look up at Kelly like she's the most beautiful creature on the planet. You're thinking, 'damn, Jimmy's a lucky b*stard.' " They did it too. It was fun although there were some whiners in the bunch. "My knees hurt." Yeah, okay, suck it up, it's only for a minute. The girls have to wear 3-4 inch heels for most of the day, I think you can handle some stairs for a minute.

The fellas. Not sure what the hand waving was but it makes for an interesting picture. Nick was doin' the Dr. Evil more like Dr. Wacko. Did I mention he was so crazy at the dance that he split his pants near the butt? You could see his undies and his leg.

There was a lot of smooching going on.

Here's one of me and my big rig of a camera with Ryley. He wanted to help take pictures so I let him aim the camera and push the shutter. He kept saying, "I want to take another one." It was cute. First he wanted a picture of his daddy then Chris then Jedi.

Jimmy & Kelly Wedding Pictures!

Here are two pictures I took from Jimmy and Kelly's wedding.

Being that I'm nit-picky I can see several things I would have done differently but the lighting is okay so that's a good thing. I won't list what I see because that would be retarded and annoying.

Marriage...

Last night I was talking with my cousin and we happened to discuss which churches my brothers were going to get married in. Which led to the fact that, in our church, the couple has to sit down with the pastor and go through a couple meetings. It's sort of marriage counseling, kind of. I thought it was a waste of time really. My cousin told me they got rid of it because that's what everyone else thought too.

Anyway, in my sessions we had to take a test together about marriage and ourselves and what we think about each other and as a couple. Then we discussed it with the pastor. I don't really remember much about it except this one thing which I just thought of now while watching "Under the Tuscan Sun". You know the part in the end where Pavel asks Kiara's dad for permission to marry her and he says no, passion won't last and then you'll have nothing. For some reason it made me think of what the pastor said to us.

He said and I'm paraphrasing here, "You both indicated on your tests that you thought you'd never find anyone else besides the other. You know there are millions of people in the world and you can always find someone else. People do it all the time. After a divorce or if someone is widowed they find love again."

At the time I didn't even consider that. That there was someone else out there for me.

Now, when I remember what the pastor told us, the first thing that popped into my head was, "If you are madly in love with someone and you can think that there might be someone else out there for you, then why the hell are you getting married in the first place?"

Driving Stick-Shift

Last night Ryan let me drive his Dad's car so I could practice driving stick-shift. I only killed it once. I was disappointed because I didn't want to kill it at all but apparently it's pretty good to only kill it once.

We practiced accelerating, slowing down, down-shifting, coming to a complete stop, accelerating from a dead stop up a hill, backing up...uh that's it. I will hopefully be able to convince him to let me have another go tonight and if I feel comfortable try a little town driving. We'll see. I did well, he said. I didn't jerk the car through the gears, I didn't miss any gears, I downshifted fine. Although I need practice on night riding the clutch. That should be easy once I get the feel of it. I shifted at the right times too.

J: "What did you just say to me?"

R: "I said you called me during mid-stream."

J: "What the heck are you talking about?"

R: "I was taking a leak and you called and I was taking a leak and you caught me mid-stream."
