12.9.09 - A couple more from Wednesday

a cute little stuffed santa I like at Kimmie's. Posting that picture made me feel like I'm a/d/d or something. Here I am talking about playing a game then I post a random pic of a santa. LOL

Thomas reading a card to me. All in all we played 2 games and Thomas won one and Kimmie won one. I think Kimmie hates it when I win. Seriously, she plays dirty so I won't win. LOL Nice try Kimmie but it didn't work.

I got up at the butt-crack of dawn...well it felt like it anyways. Kinda pretty though.

A cool ornament I saw at the Cracker Barrel. They have the cutest stuff. I should have bought it. I usually buy a new ornament every year. What do you think?

Hi! Got my hair cut tonight. Looks pretty damn short. Damn. I like it longer. Ah well...you know one good thing I like about winter? My hair never gets frizzy like it does in summer. It looks nice and glossy usually too. :)

Since it was butt-cold at work Kevy picked us up some warm beverages from Starbucks. The only thing I ever get is a Grande Caramel Apple Cider. Damn it's tasty....and I had to sign Christmas cards today which reminded me I need to get mine out.

On the way home from Just One More. Saw a ton of people I knew. Drove around a couple drunk people I know...LOL they were pretty funny. Talked to Santa Clause for awhile. LOL Al Martin plays Santa and I saw him so I chatted with him for awhile.

Finally home after a night of partying it up. Well, not really. I was sober. I had one drink and the rest of the night I had water. :)

DUV meeting.

Our pot luck of food. Not too shabby. Some fruit, a cake, cookies, salad, little weenies, ribs and some lasagna.

My black forest cherry cake made with Kirschwasser (Cherry Brandy). I'm not using that recipe again though. The cake didn't turn out very well. I liked it but it wasn't the best cake I've ever made. Ugh...I hate it when I fail.

Tristan singing at the Church service on Sunday. They sang Emmanual, Gentle Gentle Jesus and Go Tell It On the Mountain. He did pretty good. Looked crabby but still sang or lip-synced. I couldn't tell.

Me after church. I wore a black skirt and a green shirt...very Christmas-y I thought. I think I scandalized Auntie Ed though (I sat next to her. She is my 80+ great aunt) My skirt had a slit in it and when I sat down it showed a bit too much skin. Okay, the skirt isn't short it just has a slit for ease in walking so my leg was showing. I kept putting my hand over my leg and my song book too but I think she didn't like that too much. She didn't say anything but I could tell.

Jack-speak

Just thought I'd post some of what Jack's been saying lately. I haven't done this for awhile.

• "Jesus Christ!" - he uses it in the correct context too which isn't exactly in line with the ten commandments, if you get my meaning.
• "Hmmm...let's think."
• "Hide from the Monsters!"
• "Jen, let's go to Wal-Mart to get some candy."
• "Yum yum yum"
• "Shit, shit, shit" - um I didn't teach him that one. I did happen to teach him crap but he doesn't go around saying it all the time.
• "I want a back ride." - aka piggy back ride.
• "Again, let's do it again. Peas." - it's always again, just one more, more Jen. LOL
• "Let me show you."
• "That's not good eats."

Saturday DUV Bridal Shower

We had DUV (Daughter's of the of Union Veterans) on Saturday. So here are some pictures.

DUV Meeting

Me, Michelle, Kimmie, Mom and Auntie Sheila had our bi-monthly DUV (Daughter's of the Union Veterans) meeting at St. John Lutheran Church.

This was Michelle's first month as "el Presidente" more like Hitler incarnate. :) LOL jk but it sounded funny. I will say that she likes to rap the gavel quite a bit. She tries to keep everyone in line with the agenda by rapping the gavel. Seems effective although I know I don't listen. :)

Here's a picture of Auntie Sheila snuggling Gracie. She loves babies especially snuggly babies. I wonder when those two married daughters of hers are going to procreate? ahem...no pressure there girls.

DUV @ the Dunnill House

Mom, Michelle, little Kimmie and I had our December Daughters of the Union Veterans (DUV) meeting on Saturday at the Dunnill House in Owatonna, MN at the Village of Yesteryear. It's a very old but beautiful house. I actually wouldn't mind a house like that. Two-story, all hardwood floors, beautiful staircase, large dining room, high ceilings...ahhh...they don't make 'em like that anymore.
