Stash it Forward
Stash it forward is a wonderful idea that I found on Emily's blog. Basically you give away some of your scrapbooking supplies to someone in need. Somebody who wants to scrapbook but can't afford it. On Emily's blog there were comments from people saying they'd like to have supplies for their classrooms or they know a single mom who can't afford it but would like to document her children's lives, college students on a budget, kids whose parents can't afford this creative outlet, kids who have medical conditions, for the elderly in nursing homes, friends who are strapped for cash, a camp project to help kids with cancer...the list goes on. It's amazing.
I read that and thought, "This is an awesome idea!" So I am went through all my stuff gathered up a ton of supplies that I thought a person who wanted to start scrapbooking would like to have. I mean a ton. I ended up with so much stuff I sorted it into styles/themes. All of the pictures listed below is what is in this box. It's jam-packed full.
See... Packed full!
Here are some pictures of the goodies that I'm going to send to a randomly selected individual. A whole box full of stuff.
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post saying who you are and why you'd like my box of goodies. If you know someone who deserves it you can leave a comment about that individual as well. I will randomly select a person on Monday evening who will get this glorious box of goodies. If you'd like, create a box of goodies yourself and send it to someone in need.
Christmas stuff. Tons of different shades of red and green papers, some bright patterned paper (ptd ppr) and some traditionally colored ptd ppr. A KI pack of christmas paper. Some buttons, brades, a mini book, a metal border and some snowmen embellishments.
I call this the spring fling theme. Tons of pastel colors: blue and greens, some lilac, and some rub-ons in blue and green.
The Halloween mix: some KI papers, some orange cardstock, some orange ptd paper, black and white stickers, some halloween rub-ons, stickers, and embellishments.
I call this the boys pack. Tons of earthy colors, browns, blues and greens. Some blue, green and brown letter stickers and some chipboard letters.
Baby blue pack complete with letters stickers, rub-on letters and embellishments, some metal accents, some buttons and a creating keepsake magazines.
Blues pack: just a conglomeration of different shades of blue. Could be used for boys, winter, flowers, spring....
Just some odds and ends that I really liked and thought somebody would liek to use.
Everything else: photo corners, mounting tape, zots, pop dots, ribbon, enamel frames, a paper cutter, rub-on letters, letter stickers, a mini album, binding tape, tags, ribbon, glue, brads, an assortment of black pens, some stickers and a couple sheets of paper.

This looks like an amazing RAK for a new scrapper. I'd love to win it and give it to my sister, who wants to start scrapping. She is a newly single mom of two adorable young boys and would really appreciate this!

Hi, My name is Tina but on Tally I am tinkascrapper. My niece calls me Tinka. I am moving into a house next door to my sister, Little Windy. I don't have anything for scrapping. Right now I just get stuff from my sister. She is so good but it would be nice to have some things of my own. I haven't posted anything yet for this reason. I will have space in my laundry room to set up a small table to work on. If you get a message from a really needy person, please don't give me a second thought. I just thought I would put me name in for a chance. Thank you for listening and have a nice day.

Wow! you are giving away a lot of stuff. I don't know who you should give it to though.

Hi..It's victoriangirl from TallyScrapper. On June 7th herhighness (my daughter) and I will be doing About Me pages with about 100 children with cancer and a summer camp just for them. After the pages are done we will frame them and give them to their parents. I am seeking donation of products that they can use to create their own little masterpieces. This pay it forward stash would be a GRAT blessing to them, their parents and to us. Thanks for paying it forward no matter who wins. It's a great thing to do.

Jen- what a great idea! I love your selection of items - how generous! There is a woman at church who has 3 great kids who are involved in so many activities. However, they have had serious financial trouble lately, and I think this would be a perfect way for her to channel her energy. Jane Wilcox

I would love to help my sister-in-law be suprised with a box of goodies. She is a vet student so money and time are tight but she still manages to make beautiful things. This is a great idea.
Thanks.

I would love for you to send this to the United Way in my area....they actually have a program that uses donated scrapbooking stuff for creating bonds between inmates who are mothers and their children...

I am gonna post a second time.
The YWCA also takes donations of scrapbooking goods for their domestic abuse shelters. Something for the mothers and children to do together!

Hello, I'm Renee (Scrapaddict21 on Tally). Every year we hold a summer camp for girls and we teach them different crafts. Well, we will be doing scrapbooking every year. We don't really have anything for them. I donate things but not enough to really be a big help. These items would be great for them! It would give us a start and help up with necessary items especially the cutter.

I posted on Em's site, too, but trying to up my chances of winning some stash.
I am a child life specialist in a pediatric oncology department. I am working on integrating more expressive arts into my program, but I don't have a supplies budget so I'm raiding my own stash. I would LOVE to have additional supplies available.
Thanks for doing this!

Hi. This is a very nice thing of you to do. I have a neice who's just starting to get into scrapbooking. I gave her some of my stash, but I don't have much. Her parents thinks it's a waste, so they won't buy her anything. This would be great to give her! Especially since her birthday is coming up!

I create altered books (ten and fifty cent books from goodwill) and use them for my scrapbooking instead of buying photo albums. I gather lots of ideas from the scrapbook stores (can't afford), and try to copy them using materials like paper bags, a little paint, glue gun, old buttons, etc. I have very little supplies, and I would put to use any treasures you have!

Hi Jen -
Wow you are so generous. All of the items look great and expensive. Scrapping sure costs a lot and I still haven't started. Love the book you made me and figured one day I would start. You know as most things though until you just do it you put it off because of cost or money. Maybe this would help give me the little nug I need, but hey it sounds like there are a lot of others out there who "need" it. Just thought I would post anyway to say hi.
My niece is also pretty into scrapping, but only seems to use what my sister calls as the "good stuff". I think from the stores like you always shop at...she doesn't really like creative memories as I think you had said in the past that you were not a fan either.
Good luck drawing!!!

I'm actually interested in your pile of goodies for a friend. She has just started trying to scrapbook and had no money (she has only bought 5 sheets of paper and a sheet of stickers...no adhesive or anything.) I give her some of my supplies but this would be a great thing to actually get her started.
She's just moved into her own apartment after a very nasty breakup, THEN she had major repairs done to her car. This would be an awesome pick-me-up!!
Thanks...stephanie

Wow, this is so generous of you! My plea is for a group of 16 foster children. I'm running a scrap circle for these girls, many of whom have moved from family to family for several years, with little or no documentation of their lives and memories. Some of them have lived with more than 8 different families. That means 8 different schools, 8 different sets of parents, 8 different neighborhoods, activities, churches, you get the picture. I'm helping them learn to take photos and keep their scrapbooks or "lifebooks" so that even if they have to move, they have their history to take with them. I'm always looking for donations as this group of girls doesn't have any money, so I'm supplying everything myself. Either way, hope you find someone deserving for the goodies!

I'm a long-time Jill of All Trades crafter (mostly sewing/embroidery/etc. so far), and I'm starting to do more paper/collage type projects. With baby #2 on the way, I'm on a tight budget, but I'd love some goodies to play with! And I'd be happy to forward fabric scraps/squares to someone who needs them to keep the love flowing.
